CTC: What does the Stage Management Fellow at CTC do?

AP: The Stage Management Fellow serves as a second Assistant Stage Manager for a production. They assist with documentation during prep week for shows, as well as setting and breaking down the rehearsals room.

CTC: Can you tell us a bit about your background?

AP: I have always had an affinity for the technical aspect of theatre. So far, I have worked as an audio-visual technician during college and after graduation I delved deeper into theatre working as a Stage Manager and Assistant Stage Manager for a non-profit theatre in South Florida. After that, I transitioned into touring as an assistant properties technician for Paw Patrol Live!

CTC: What first sparked your interest in theatre?

AP: I have always had a close relationship with theatre and the arts, having participated in competitive dance for the majority of my childhood. As well as consuming a lot of media relating to theatre. I vividly remember being around 15 and my first time watching RENT the musical and I immediately became obsessed with the story, characters, and the music.

CTC: What are you looking forward to experiencing at CTC this season?

AP: Aside from gaining more experience in theatre management, I am most excited to collaborate, support, and work with some extremely talented individuals from the cast to crew and management.

CTC: What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about stage management?

AP: How skillful they are at math!

CTC: What’s your all time favorite play or musical, and why?

AP: RENT and Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. Rent was one of the first musical productions that I was introduced to and the story, characters, and music are just very dear to my heart. Harry Potter and The Cursed Child is also a production that I instantly fell in love with when I saw it in person.

CTC: What’s your go-to snack or ritual during tech week?

AP: Lots of water, chips, and listening to my favorite music on breaks!
