Act I 

At the Admiral Benbow Inn, young Jim Hawkins encounters the menacing old sailor Billy Bones, who is hiding from his former pirate crew. When Billy is hunted down by Black Dog and Blind Pew, Jim discovers a secret map in Billy’s sea chest—the treasure map of the notorious pirate Captain Flint. Jim brings the map to Doctor Livesey and Squire Trelawney, who resolve to outfit a ship and retrieve the treasure. 

They hire the Hispaniola and crew, led by the seemingly genial but cunning Long John Silver. As the voyage unfolds, tensions rise: Captain Smollett distrusts the crew, and Jim gradually discovers the sailors’ true loyalties. Hiding in an apple barrel, Jim overhears Silver plotting mutiny with his fellow pirates—they intend to seize the treasure and murder the loyal men. 

Jim goes ashore with the pirates, hoping to uncover more of their plot. There he sees Silver strike down the loyal sailor Tom, a shocking moment that reveals the true danger they face. Refusing Silver’s offer of allegiance, Jim defiantly breaks away and escapes into the forest.

Act II 

Alone on the island, Jim meets Ben Gunn, a ragged castaway marooned after a failed treasure hunt. Gunn reveals he once sailed with Flint and knows the treasure’s hiding place. Meanwhile, Smollett, Livesey, and Trelawney retreat to an abandoned stockade, where the pirates—now led by Silver—launch fierce assaults. The loyal crew hold them off, but at great cost, losing good men like Abraham Gray. 

Determined to turn the tide, Jim slips away, takes Gunn’s small boat, and cuts the Hispaniola adrift. In a deadly struggle, he kills the treacherous Israel Hands and secures the ship. Returning to shore, he is captured, and Silver uses him as leverage. In a dramatic turn, Silver leads the pirates to what they think is Flint’s treasure—only to find the chests already emptied by Gunn. The furious pirates turn on Silver and are soon defeated. 

With the treasure safely aboard the Hispaniola, Jim secretly allows Silver to slip away, while the others set sail for home.
