“Who Hash” (In case The Grinch stole yours!)

“Then he slunk to the icebox. He eyed the Whos’ feast. He took the Who-Pudding. He took… the Roast Beast. He cleaned out that icebox as quick as a flash. Why, that Grinch, he even took their last can of Who-Hash.” How the Grinch Stole Christmas, by Dr. Seuss

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Cook Time: 10-15 minutes | Total Time: 30-35 minutes

All veggies should be cut by an adult. All use of a hot stove should be under adult supervision.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag of pre-shredded hashbrowns (frozen)
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced (pre-cut by an adult)
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced (pre-cut by an adult)
  • 1 large yellow onion, diced (pre-cut by an adult)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp dried rosemary
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • **Optional: Cheese (cheddar or colby jack mix are recommended)

Utensils:

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Wooden spoon
  • Large pan

Instructions

  1. Preparation: Take frozen hashbrowns out of the freezer and let them sit out so they can begin to thaw. Have an adult dice the green and red bell peppers and the onion into small pieces.
  2. Add diced veggies and hashbrowns into the mixing bowl and mix with a wooden spoon.
  3. Add olive oil, paprika, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper into the mixing bowl and mix with the wooden spoon. Make sure everything is coated evenly!
  4. Heat a large pan on the stove on a medium heat. Add all ingredients to the pan and cook until vegetables are softened and hashbrowns start to turn golden brown, about 10 minutes. Make sure to stir everything frequently. Add more olive oil if ingredients stick to the pan.
  5. Take pan off the heat and serve!
  6. **Optional: Add your favorite shredded cheese on top after plating up your dish!

Grinch 2023

Play this fun Grinch themed game with your family or friends! You can play the instructions below with two people. You can add more people to the fun by adding more objects and turning it into a team game.

Instructions:

  1. One person will start as the “hider” and the other person will start as “The Grinch.”
  2. Pick 5 small objects (about the size of your hand) that can be hidden. Challenge yourself to find all GREEN objects.
  3. The hider will hide all objects somewhere in your home.
  4. You could also just choose one room in your home in which to play the game.
  5. The hider will set a 5-minute timer while The Grinch looks for the objects.
  6. When the timer is up, count all the objects that The Grinch could find during the 5 minutes.
  7. Now, switch roles and play again! The Grinch that found the most objects the fastest is the winner!
