Theatre Arts Training Institute

Institute: Young Ensemble

students entering grades 6-8

This three-year program is for actors who are looking to push their training to the next level. Students will receive specialized training in Acting, Voice, Movement, and Dance. Highlights include intensive acting and musical theatre training with industry professionals, an annual spring showcase, mainstage audition opportunities, and mentorship under CTC artists.

Each fall and winter, student cohorts take a weekly class on Tuesdays focusing on advancing skills each year. Tuesdays in the spring, students prepare a showcase highlighting their progress. Each year students also choose one elective course tailored to their personal performance goals.

In addition to their course work, Institute members can receive one-on-one mentorship with members of CTC acting company, participate in exclusive masterclasses, and receive individual coaching to prepare for auditions.

As this is a very rigorous program, we have a high expectation for attendance. We permit up to 2 missed classes per session (fall, winter, and spring) and no absences are permitted during tech week.

Primary Schedule:

Auditions for both Young Company and Young Ensemble will be held on September 9 from 6-8pm.

Pre-Professional Institute will meet Tuesdays from 5-8pm following the TAT session schedule below:

Fall Session: September 24-November 12
Winter Session: January 7-February 25
Spring Session: March 18-May 6

Show Case Tech and Performance Schedule:

Technical Rehearsal May 13 and May 14 at 5-8pm
Showcase Performance May 15 at 6:30pm

students entering grades 9-12

This four-year program prepares young actors for college and professional theatre careers. Students will receive college and graduate-level training in Acting, Voice, Movement, and Dance. Highlights include intensive acting and musical theatre training with industry professionals, an annual spring showcase, mainstage audition opportunities, mentorship under CTC artists, college audition preparation, and casting opportunities in the Annual summer intensive.

Each fall and winter, student cohorts take a weekly class on Tuesday evenings, focusing on advancing skills each year. Tuesdays in the spring, students prepare a showcase highlighting their progress. Each year, students also choose one elective course tailored to their personal performance goals. During the final year, 4^th year students spend the fall preparing for college auditions.

In addition to their course work, Institute members can receive one-on-one mentorship with members of CTC Acting Company, participate in exclusive master classes, and receive individual coaching to prepare for college auditions.
